Ing. Martin Borovička

Chairman of the Board of Directors of Brightwater a.s.

Ing. Martin Borovička

Ing. Martin Borovička graduated from the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague in 1991. Already during his studies at the university he cooperated with a number of investment funds, and after graduation he gained further professional experience in specialized courses in management, financial management and marketing.

From 1994 to 2000, he held various positions in the French multinational company Lafarge Group. These were 2 years as the marketing director of Lafarge Centre Europe, and then 2 years as the CEO of Lafarge Colbet a.s.

In 2001, he became the CEO of Paramo a.s. in Pardubice. In a short time, this company got out of financial loss under Borovička’s leadership. The restructuring concerned not only Paramo itself but also its 11 subsidiaries. Eight of the subsidiaries were sold, two were liquidated, and in one the parent company kept a stake. The harsh but necessary restructuring bore fruit in the form of profitable Paramo in the next period

After two years of leading Paramo, Ing. Martin Borovička received another task, which he personally took as a challenge – he became the CEO of Aliachem and its branch Synthesia Pardubice, which is the largest chemical giant in the Czech Republic, but it needed the same as Paramo – restructuring. Ing. Martin Borovička took part in it until the end of 2004.

While in Lafarge he was establishing new companies, his work in the companies of the Unipetrol Group (Paramo, Synthesia) had the nature of crisis management.

From 2005 to 2011, Ing. Martin Borovička worked as the CEO of the construction company SYNER, s.r.o., and from 2007 until mid-2017 he was the chairman of the board of directors and the CEO of the real estate development and construction group S group holding, a.s.

Since 2018 he is the chairman of the board of directors of Čermák a Hrachovec a.s. and VHS stavby a.s.
